Roopa Sirisha (Founder)

Meet Mdm. Roopa Sirisha, founder of Scrapplique Galore, an Indian expat living in Singapore. She is passionate about sustainable fashion upcycling and aims to reduce fashion waste in Singapore by transforming pre-loved clothes into fashionable and useful products. Mdm. Roopa Sirisha started her journey in sustainable fashion after realizing the significant impact of textile waste on the environment.

Scrapplique Galore is a brand in Singapore that specializes in upcycling pre-loved clothes into a variety of products, including textile art and fashion accessories. Mdm. Roopa is dedicated to creating eco-friendly and stylish products that promote sustainable living. Her vision is to create a world where upcycling and sustainability are at the forefront of the fashion industry limiting fashion waste from landfills (Semakau Landfill) in Singapore .

Her journey began in 2020 during pandemic, she realized that there was a lot of potential in upcycling pre-loved clothes and started to experiment with different fabrics and designs. After many months of trial and error, she developed a unique style that transformed old clothes into stylish and functional products that holds longer shelf-life.

Scrapplique Galore's products are created using a combination of traditional and modern techniques. 

Scrapplique Galore has gained a significant following, with customers from all over the world appreciating the unique and eco-friendly products she creates. Her dedication to sustainable fashion has been recognized by many organizations in Singapore, and she has been featured in several publications.

Mrs. Roopa Sirisha's mission to reduce fashion waste in Singapore has not gone unnoticed.

Publication in Osmania University's (India) Sustainable Development Goals Book

One of her proudest achievements was the publication of her article in Osmania University's Sustainable Development Goals book. This significant contribution propelled the conversation on textile waste management, outlining challenges, and highlighting opportunities for a more sustainable future. It's a testament to her dedication to research and advocacy. 

Textile Art Exhibition at Singapore Choa Chu Kang Public Library & Tampines Regional Library - Textile Art Showcase

At the Singapore Choa Chu Kang Public Library, She orchestrated an eye-opening exhibition that celebrated the beauty and potential of upcycled fashion waste. Showcasing captivating abstract textile art pieces, the exhibition bridged the realms of artistry and sustainability, inviting visitors to witness firsthand the transformative power of repurposed materials. 

East Coast Green Ambassador Singapore: Championing Sustainability

Becoming an East Coast Green Ambassador was a pivotal milestone in her sustainable journey. This esteemed recognition not only acknowledged her dedication but also amplified the impact. As an ambassador,She actively engaged with local communities, spreading the message of sustainable practices and upcycling, thus nurturing a culture of environmental consciousness. 

Under the visionary leadership of Madam Roopa Sirisha, founder of Scrapplique Galore Singapore, the project THREADS (The Redefining Art of Discarded Scraps) has garnered recognition and support from esteemed institutions such as the SG Eco Fund (Ministry of Sustainability & The Environment) Singapore.

Workshops for Young Minds: Educating School Kids Singapore

Passionate about nurturing the next generation of eco-warriors, Mdm. Roopa has organized workshops for primary school & secondary school children in Singapore.
