She is passionate about sustainable fashion upcycling and aims to reduce fashion waste by transforming pre-loved clothes into fashionable and useful products. Mdm. Roopa Sirisha started her journey in sustainable fashion after realizing the significant impact of textile waste on the environment.
Scrapplique Galore is a brand in Singapore that specializes in upcycling pre-loved clothes into a variety of products, including sustainable art and fashion accessories. Mdm. Roopa is dedicated to creating eco-friendly and stylish products that promote sustainable living. Her vision is to create a world where upcycling and sustainability are at the forefront of the fashion industry limiting fashion waste from landfills and reduce carbon footprint (co2 emissions).
Her journey began in 2020 during pandemic, she realised that there is a lot of potential in upcycling pre-loved clothes and started to experiment with different fabrics and designs. After many months of trial and error, she developed a unique style that transformed old clothes into stylish and functional products that holds longer shelf-life.
The sustainable textile art pieces are created using a combination of traditional and modern techniques.
