Celebrating the Success of Our Project THREADS - The Redefining Art of Discarded Scraps

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of THREADS (The Redefining Art of Discarded Scraps), an innovative project supported by SG Eco Fund and led by Mdm.Roopa Sirisha (Founder of Scrapplique Galore) that has transformed fashion waste into captivating abstract art.

This milestone represents not just a triumph for Scrapplique Galore but a significant step forward in the movement towards sustainable fashion and art.

The Journey of THREADS - The Redefining Art of Discarded Scraps

THREADS was conceived with a vision to address the pressing issue of fashion waste, a major contributor to environmental pollution. Supported by SG Eco Fund, we embarked on a creative journey to repurpose discarded fabrics into vibrant pieces of textile art. The process involved collecting pre-loved clothes, carefully deconstructing them, and reimagining them into unique, abstract designs.

Several workshops and exhibition were held to educate the general public about the fashion waste and benefits of upcycling the fashion waste into textile wall art.

Each piece of art tells a story of transformation, symbolizing the potential of waste to be turned into something beautiful and meaningful.

Impact and Innovation

Through THREADS, we have been able to showcase how artistic innovation can lead to sustainable practices. Our project not only diverted a significant amount of fashion waste from landfills but also raised awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion in Singapore. By integrating sustainable materials into our artwork, we have demonstrated that creativity and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
