Learn to Sew Scrunchies from Discarded Fabrics!

Join our fun and eco-friendly Scrunchies Making Workshop in Singapore, where you’ll learn to transform discarded fabrics into stylish scrunchies. This workshop is perfect for anyone aged 8 and above, and no prior sewing experience is required!

Workshop Details:

Age: 8 years and above
Experience: No prior sewing experience needed

Duration: 2 Hours

• Introduction and speech on the impact of fashion waste and the importance of fashion sustainability. (15 minutes)
• Distribution of materials and necessary tools for crafting. (5 to 10 minutes)
• Hands-on activity where participants create their own scrunchie hair ties. (1.5 hour)
• Extracting fabric from old clothes , measuring and cutting the fabrics.

What You’ll Learn:

• Basic Sewing Techniques: Learn how to mount a spool in the sewing machine, perform a straight stitch, and master the scrunchie method.
• Upcycling Fashion Waste: Understand the importance of upcycling and how to give new life to old fabrics.

Materials Provided By Us :
Sewing Machine ; Spools ; Scissors ; Rulers ; Fabric Markers / pencils

We recommend participants bring their old fabrics (BYO- Bring Your Own / washed fabrics (Preferably synthetics for this project)) to foster the importance of fashion waste and enhance the upcycling experience.

Audience:

Kindly note that a minimum of 10 participants is required to conduct the scrunchie making workshop.
